I do the same, only I dump all the bottles into a big pail with a dilute bleach solution, and put the lids in too. Some of the wine bottle cleaning stuff is really good for that too.
That's a good idea about dumping the lids in too -- occasionally, I'll put the lids in a little bowl with some bleach and water. I like your idea about dumping everything in at once!
